Head-To-Toe Acne Control ft. Neutrogena

The drugstore is a beauty lover's happy place, and while I haven't been shopping there nearly as much as I used to, I still enjoy coming across makeup and skin care items that end up performing better than I had expected. Coping with severe acne both on my face and body in my teenage years meant trying a lot of different affordable skin care brands to help calm my skin, one of them being Neutrogena. Today I will be revisiting an old favourite as well as share some new additions in my routine.

G.M. Collin Skin Care | Review

I've been trying out a lot of new skin care lately and my skin has been coping pretty well with the changes. Dealing with acne prone skin does make my skin more sensitive, however as odd as it may sound, it has been under control for the last little while despite regularly switching up which products I use. You can see in my latest Get Ready With Me that I am currently not breaking out as much, and my scarring has faded quite a bit (but more on what I've been doing to help speed up the healing process in a future post coming very soon)! Through the Canadian Beauty Bloggers Network, I had the opportunity to test G.M. Collin Skin Care, a Montreal-based company specializing in natural, plant-based products. I was hooked up with six products suitable for my skin type, including a pretty neat lip product which I'm excited to share! I gave you a sneak peak of these in my Room Tour, and today I'm breaking down how this line has been working for me.

SOUFEEL Jewelry 925 Sterling Silver Christmas Charm Bracelet | The Perfect Gift For Her

You might recall that a while back I reviewed this beautiful charm bracelet from SOUFEEL Jewelry and it has honestly become my favourite piece I own. I've been wearing it constantly - I love how it can be worn with a casual outfit or on a special occasion. You can imagine my delight when SOUFEEL reached out to me again and asked if this time I would like to build my own Christmas charm bracelet! I got to pick five charm sets from their large selection of Christmas charms, many of which are on sale and also received a 925 Sterling Silver basic bracelet*. The charms are beyond adorable, and once again I have fallen completely in love with my new custom charm bracelet.

Get Ready With Me | Light Bronze Daytime Makeup ft. Eye of Horus Cosmetics

Over the last few weeks I have discovered a bunch of new brands, one of them being the Australian-based Eye of Horus Cosmetics. I first heard of this eye-focused makeup line through Tashina of Logical Harmony - her blog is one of my favourites as she always has the best recommendations when it come to vegan and cruelty-free beauty products. When I saw that she was holding a giveaway to win one of their gorgeous eye palettes, I couldn't resist entering and luck just happened to be on my side! I received the Isis Sun Goddess Palette and it has quickly become my new go-to. This eye shadow trio includes Enigma Myst, a shimmery peachy pink, Chalice Bronze (the name gives it away) and Sacred Husk, a shade somewhere between copper and bronze.

Softlips LUXE Lip Moisturizers + $50 Prize Pack Giveaway!

If there is one thing I think one can never have too much of, lip balm would be it. I keep a handful of lip balms a bit everywhere: on my vanity (see here), in my hand bag (more evidence here), not to mention I also have back ups since I go through them rather quickly... oh the perks of Canadian winters! The newest additions that have made it into my stash are the Softlips LUXE Lip Moisturizers in Creamy Coconut* and Silky Shea*. I am sure you are all familiar with this brand. Reflecting back however, I realized that I have actually never tried any of their products! Shocking, I know. One lucky reader is in for a treat too - I have partnered with Softlips to offer one lucky reader the chance to win a prize pack worth $50!

My Paula's Choice Skin Care Routine | Review

Paula's Choice Skincare

Paula's Choice* is one of those brands that has appealed to me ever since I came across reviews on their line years ago. I kept hearing how amazing their products are, especially regarding their skincare, so when the opportunity arose to try out their range, I, of course, could not turn it down! What I really appreciate is that Paula's Choice is there to help you build your own customized skin regimen suited for your specific skin type and concerns following a free personal skincare consultation which is just a phone call away. Room Tour | Office Organization, Makeup Storage + Tips to Make a Small Room Look Bigger!

Well, the day has finally come. My room was in need of a major makeover, and although I did not document the before (you can still catch glimpses of my obnoxiously bright yellow room in some of my older videos), I decided to share my new space with you. This time around I opted for decor that gives off a simplistic and modern vibe, going with a grey and white colour scheme which I think represents my style a lot better. I envisioned a space that would inspire me and get my creative juices flowing and I'm happy to share that I have finally achieved that. I now spend most of my time here, working on my blog and videos or to just simply relax and get my mind off of things.

Lisap Easy Build Hair Reconstruction System: "Botox For Hair?" | Review

Has your hair not been looking or feeling its best lately? With winter slowly rolling in, it seems my skin is not the only victim of drier times. My hair has been looking quite sad for the last few weeks and in need of a good set of conditioning products so the opportunity to try the Lisap Easy Build Hair Reconstruction System*, described as "Botox for Hair" because of its anti-aging effect, could not have come at a better time! I first heard of this Italian brand from fellow blogger friend Cosmetic Proof not too long ago, so I was really excited to put some of their products to the test. Are these as good as they sound?

ZAYA Body Oil Blend With Grapefruit and Rosemary | Review

If a product is eco-friendly and made with essential oils, I am all over it! I was recently introduced to ZAYA, a Canadian skin care brand that produces natural oil blends that are skin part specific, targeting areas such as the face, eyes, hair, nails, belly and the one I have to share with you today, the Body Oil Blend*. Most of the oils used are organic and you can rest assured that their blends are free of mineral oil, synthetic fragrances and are cruelty free and vegan. Their products are also categorized by 'lifestyles' or moods, including serene, charismatic, alluring, flirty, majestic and playful, under which the Body Oil Blend falls.

Bioderma Sébium for Combination to Oily Acne Prone Skin | Review

I have grown quite fond of Bioderma, mainly because of their Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution which I'm sure by now you've heard or read about. I have already professed my love for the Sensibio range, and this time I've been putting the Sébium line to the test to see if it can 'wow' me just as much. Namely, I've been using the Sébium Foaming Gel*, Exfoliating Gel* and Pore Refiner* which are suitable for combination to oily skin types with imperfections. I've been sticking to these over the last few weeks and thought I would fill you in on how they have been working for my skin.

Glam Holiday Makeup Talk Through Tutorial ft. Jouviance | Big Bold Lashes and Red Lips

There's nothing like Christmas music to get me in the Holiday spirit - that, and (of course) playing with makeup and reaching for bolder lip shades and sparkly eyeshadows. I know I'm not the only one who gets overly excited during this time of the year, am I right? I wanted to create a makeup look incorporating a few products I received recently from Jouviance, namely their Hydra-Colour Multi Quatuor in Black Star*, Eye Pencil in Black Diamond* and Rouge Magistral Lipstick in 12 Opéra à Sydney*. I absolutely meant to use their Mascara 3D Designer in 01 Black* but got a little ahead of myself applying my Make Up For Ever Lash Show Instant Drama False Lashes in C-705* and completely forgot to apply a coat on my natural lashes beforehand. As you will see, the lashes still turned out pretty darn amazing!

NEW Make Up For Ever Lash Show Instant Drama False Lashes in C-705 | Review + Makeup Look

My blonde lashes are basically non-existent without a good curl and a generous coat (or two) of mascara, so stepping into the wonderful world of false lashes has been rather exciting if you ask me. Now this is not my first encounter with the falsies, but let's just say I can count on my one hand the number of times I've actually worn a pair. My first were these Essence lashes which I hauled way back and got a good few uses out of despite them not being the most comfortable to wear. Then I tried these extravagant paper ones from Omorose Cosmetics, really neat and fun to play with for sure. This brings me to my third ever pair of false lashes, the Make Up For Ever Lash Show Instant Drama in C-705*, part of their new collection of 50 handmade, synthetic fiber lashes. The range includes 27 natural pairs and 23 creative sets - impressive right? Each pair also comes with a latex-free, easy to use lash glue so no need to worry about purchasing one separately.

Institut Esthederm Sculpt System High Nutrition Body Balm | Review

While in the last few months I could get away with not moisturizing my body daily, neglecting this task at this point in time means dealing with a ridiculous amount of skin shedding. To prevent this from happening, I've been exfoliating a lot more and loading up on heavy duty lotions and oils. I also just recently started incorporating the Institut Esthederm Sculpt System High Nutrition Body Balm* into my after shower routine. After just a couple of uses, my skin is looking luminous and feeling silky smooth. Yes you read that right - my skin actually glows after layering this product on. How you ask?

Rosehip Oil To Treat Acne Scars | Benefits + What I Use

A few months ago I was researching the best facial oils to help fade acne scars and rosehip oil kept popping up time and time again. It didn't take too much convincing to try this wondrous oil which by the way was surprisingly easy to find. I started using the Life Flo Pure Rosehip Seed Oil soon after purchasing it from iHerb.com for a ridiculously affordable price. You can of course also get a hold of it at your local health food store too. This natural oil has become a staple in my skincare routine ever since I shared it in my haul and I thought it was about time I shine a spotlight on this gem.

Lauren Conrad BEAUTY | Book Review

I was looking at my bookshelf the other day and reached for Lauren Conrad BEAUTY - I'm sure most of you remember when this book came out and took the beauty community by storm. I've collected a few beauty reads over the last few years (and even shared my first book review here) and thought it was about time I shared one of my absolute faves! Lauren Conrad has always been a huge inspiration for me - her blog is actually one of the first I ever read and I learned a lot from browsing her website. Not your typical book, think of BEAUTY as an extension of Lauren's blog with a magazine feel to it where she shares her childhood photos and stories, tips, techniques and step by step tutorials. Topics covered include makeup, skincare, hair, nails, health, well being, fitness and much more.

ARTDECO is one of those brands that has been on my radar for a very long time and I was lucky enough to sample a few items from one of their previous collections last year. I also own one of their liquid liners and waterproof mascaras, so when I read about the new ARTDECO Mystical Forest Collection* released for Fall/Winter 2015, I of course couldn't resist! There are quite a few products in this collection and I will be sharing a few eye and lip products I got to try out.

I dedicated an entire post to this gem a few years ago, which by the way I still use to this day as I always make sure to have a backup in my stash. I wanted to share with you a few more products that I got to try out from the brand recently. I was generously sent a bunch of their skin care items and thought I would start by focusing on their Sensibio line. On top of a brand new bottle of their fab Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution*, I also got to try their Sensibio H2O Makeup Removing Wipes* and Sensibio 3-in-1 Milk*. What's In My Cross-Body Bag ft. Angela Roi

I'm quite the creature of habit when it comes to handbags as I like sticking to neutral shades. You will almost always see me with a grey, black or brown bag slung across my shoulder. About a year ago, I shared a What's In My Bag video featuring my beloved Matt and Nat Tote Bag which I am still obsessed with. My weakness for these types of bags has not gone unnoticed, and my really good friend surprised me for my birthday this past summer with the Angela Roi Palette Light Brown Cross-Body Bag. I had never heard of this brand before, but she went the extra mile to find an everyday vegan leather bag - how sweet is she? As soon as I unwrapped it, it was love at first sight!

Everyday Minerals Semi Matte Base Mineral Powder and Plush Mineral Brush | Review

Loose powders are something I haven't experimented much with. In my early blogging days I actually reviewed a great drugstore face powder but not too long after stuck to my go to pressed powder after really digging the finish and coverage. Earlier this year I shared a natural beauty haul with a bunch of vegan products I picked up from iHerb and thought I would share my thoughts on the Everyday Minerals Mineral Powder in the Semi Matte Base in shade Golden Beige 3W which I purchased with their Plush Mineral Brush. After swatching the powder back when I first got it I realized it was way too yellow for my skin since I was at my palest having just come out of winter. After catching some rays over the last few months though it has been a perfect match for my deeper skin!

Well, that what's been happening lately and I really wanted to share with you all how I achieve a glowing, luminous complexion in just a few easy steps! I also show you what I look like when I've just rolled out of bed in the morning and take you through my hair, skincare and makeup routine. For my hair in the last few months, I've been braiding it at night when it's wet and I find it really helps minimize frizz and gives a nice wave to my strands. My go-to skin care as of late has been the Maison Jacynthe line which I love so much I even dedicated a video telling you why! As you will see, I keep my hair and skin care to a minimum in the morning and always spend more time on my makeup.

Things I Picked Up While In Greece! | Travel Haul

I still can't believe it's already been a month since I got back from Greece! I had the most amazing time in the Mediterranean and the timing could not have been more perfect. I just really needed to get away and make time for myself and people who matter most to me. The change in scenery felt so good and having plenty of time to get outside, be active, explore and learn about the culture was even better than I had hoped for. You can have a read and look back at my trip in my travel post where I share pictures, experiences and more. Naturally, being in Greece I was hoping to find natural skincare (as in, lots of stuff made with olive oil, obviously) but our finds exceeded even my own expectations. I thought I would share all the beauty bits I picked up because I'm always curious when it comes to travel hauls and whatnot.

Super Easy DIY French Green Clay Mask + Benefits for Acne Prone and Oily Skin

We've all heard how clay masks can improve our skin's texture and appearance, but did you know that a simple DIY green clay mask is probably the cheapest and most effective way to treat acne and oily skin? For years I've been wanting to make my own clay mask and a few months ago while I was at the health food store I perused the natural beauty aisle (as per usual) and finally picked up a bag of pure French green clay powder, on sale for only $6 I might add... such a bargain! You can easily find ready-to-use clay masks in squeeze tubes, but I personally get more satisfaction from making my own (not to mention getting it in powder form is usually cheaper and it will last you much longer since you don't have to worry about the paste drying out). I quickly learned that there are many uses for green clay other than just as a face mask (as in: hair mask, bath soak, to treat scratches and sunburns and the list goes on), but today I wanted to shine a light on its glorious benefits for acneic and oily skin.

Maison Jacynthe Skin Care | Review + My Routine!

I love supporting Canadian brands and in the last few months have found amazing, locally made skin care products. A few weeks ago, I was introduced to Maison Jacynthe, a range of 100% natural, plant-based products created by well-known Québec actress and producer Jacynthe René, who is also a health and wellness expert and even has three published books sharing the vegan lifestyle under her belt. She launched her own online magazine last year and is spreading her wisdom by touring the province and hosting conferences and workshops as well as making numerous media appearances to share her message on becoming your best possible self. I had the opportunity to try a few of her products, namely the Huile nettoyante, démaquillante*, Eau florale de rose* and Le sérum de Jacynthe* which I just adore and I thought, why not share them with you in video form, too!

NEW Jergens Moisturizer for Wet Skin + My Morning Hustle Tips

For many, makeup is a weakness. I would say skin care is right up there for me as well. As you can probably tell from my previous posts, I am an avid skin care fanatic and I really cannot count how many different lotions and potions I've tried over the years. Of course, nothing beats finding an amazing body product that keeps your skin looking plump and feeling soft, especially when it can save you time in your morning routine when you have to get out the door fast. I've only ever applied moisturizer on dry skin, so when I found out that the new Jergens Moisturizer for Wet Skin* was meant to keep skin looking its best immediately after showering when your skin is most capable of absorbing moisture, I had to give it a go.

AMOREPACIFIC Color Control Cushion Compact in 104 Tan Blush | Review

Creams, powders, liquid foundations, there are so many to choose from! I've really been into powder foundations lately, but something I've actually never played with is cushion foundation which seems to be all the rage right now. The few Asian makeup products I have tried, such as the Lioele Triple the Solution BB Cream and the Omorose BB Foundation Stick have been really good on my skin so I was really excited to try the AMOREPACIFIC Color Control Cushion Compact in 104 Tan Blush*, a Korean brand that can be found at Sephora. Choosing my shade was tricky, but after looking up swatches online it seemed this shade would be a good match for my current skin colour. When I opened the compact I thought to myself this is way too dark, however as I had read online it goes on much lighter so I was relieved when it blended nicely into my post vacation tanned skin.

NEW Lipidol Skin Care: Cleansing Face Oil, Overnight Face Oil, Cleansing Body Oil and After Shower Oil | Review

If  you asked me which I prefer in skin care: creams or oils, oils would win hands down. Like many, I used to believe that applying oils directly to the skin was a big no-no, but once I did more research I learned that it is seriously the best thing you can apply to your skin! I've since tried a handful of natural oils, some of my favourites being coconut, rosehip, lavender and geranium. You can imagine my interest when I read that the makers of Bio-Oil had just come out with an affordable range of face and body oils that are meant to lock in moisture and quickly soothe dry skin. This new Lipidol range comprises both face and body oils developed to be fast absorbing and sensitive skin friendly. I've been putting the Cleansing Face Oil*, Overnight Face Oil*, Cleansing Body Oil* and After Shower Oil* to the test to see if they actually work as well as they claim.

Does Oil Pulling Really Work? | Benefits + Perla Coco Review

I have already professed my love for coconut oil a few times in the past and even dedicated an entire post to the benefits of using it on your hair here. I've always been intrigued by the practice of oil pulling for oral health and have done it in the last year, although inconsistently. Since it is recommended to do it every morning for 15 minutes before eating and I'm usually in a rush to catch the bus for work, I just haven't been good about it lately. I was recently introduced to the brand Perla Coco - they offer oil cleansing packs to improve dental and gum health. I wanted to see if it was any different from using plain coconut oil. I received their 2 Week Plan Oil Pulling Pack* and challenged myself to oil pull daily for 14 days straight.

That Time I Was in Greece | Visiting Athens, Delphi and Santorini Island

I've been dealing with a serious case of wanderlust ever since I got back from Greece. Funny enough, I was never really interested in visiting the country up until a couple of years ago when it seemed everyone I knew would share pictures of their travels on Facebook and raved about their time in the Mediterranean. That is when I knew I had to see it all with my own eyes. Another reason I held back from traveling to Greece is that I thought the trip would cost an exorbitant amount of money. To my great surprise, we were able to find amazing deals as we were planning to visit during the off season and even managed to find a really cheap and lovely apartment in Athens through Airbnb as well as affordable hotels on the island of Santorini. I had never tried Airbnb before but had heard good reviews on the service. I'm so glad we booked with them because we had such a good experience and our hosts were so welcoming and helpful. I know I will definitely be using Airbnb a lot more now as we actually preferred our stay at our apartment over our hotels (you can click here* to earn a C$26 credit on your next booking).

Fall Statement Lip with Arbonne Smoothed Over Lipstick in Iris, Glossed Over Lip Gloss in Hyacinth and Lip Liner in Berry | Review

Darks lips in fall are a thing, there is no denying it. I've always been a fan, but haven't experimented much with vampy shades in the past. Honestly, I never really thought I could pull the look off since I believed I would scare people more than anything. Not to mention the fear of it not lasting and smudging past the lip line and ending up on my teeth! This year, I thought why not just go all in and try out a handful of bold shades to see what I would look like. I opted for the Arbonne Smoothed Over Lipstick in Iris*, Glossed Over Lip Gloss in Hyacinth* and Lip Liner in Berry*, all of which pair well together but also look amazing on their own. I've never tried anything from the Arbonne line before, but have had my eyes on them since I discovered that all their products are vegan and cruelty free.

Sothys Energizing Booster Serum and Instant Energizing Corrector | Review

I've been going through my skincare like never before simply because my skin has been drinking everything up! Since coming back from vacation, my skin has become even drier and the chilly weather has not helped remedy the situation. I've been making an effort to be on top of my regimen and really stick to it. I've been testing out a few new products in the last month, and a duo that I really wanted to share with you is the Sothys Energizing Booster Serum* and Instant Energizing Corrector*. These two have been amazing and provide quick results. After only a week of using them, I noticed how more even my skin looked!
