Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara: Is it Worth the Hype?

I had been hearing so many rave reviews on the Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara that I just had to give it a try! As the name implies, this mascara is designed to get those hard to coat lower lashes without creating a big mess. After giving it a try, I can see why this mascara is so hyped - it really makes applying mascara on the bottom lashes a breeze!

What makes the Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara so special is the wand it comes with. It is miniature! I would say the bristled part of the wand is about a third of the length of that of a regular-sized mascara. This makes it the perfect size to apply the product on the lower lashes, but also on the inner and outer corner of the upper lashes, which for me are shorter and hard to coat with the average-sized mascara wand.

The Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara comes in a .07 OZ or 2 mL tube, compared to the average .30 OZ or 9 mL regular-sized mascara. However, since the wand is so small, you won't be going through the product any faster, so it will still last you the same amount of time as your big-size mascara. I honestly believe that this product is worth the hype, since the wand picks up just the right amount of product, and makes separating the lashes so easy thanks to the wand. The formulation is also really nice, it isn't too wet nor too dry, making the application mess-free. It is long-wearing, and even after a long day of having it on, this mascara never pulls the raccoon eyes effect on me. I got mine in the shade black, but it also comes in black-brown for those of you who prefer a softer look.

I feel like I am slowly mastering my mascara application routine, and I owe big thanks to this little helper! You can purchase the Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara at Clinique counters in department stores, at Sephora, or like me, at the airport in the duty-free boutique! At $10 US/$12 CAN, I think it's a pretty good deal considering the amazing effect it gives my lashes.

Have you tried the Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara? Did you like it as much as I did?

  1. Oh this does seem like it would make it easier, I may have to grab this next time clinique has a bonus, I always wonder if it's worth it. there's a two sided one from the drugstore, maybelline i think, that's meant to do the same thing though don't know how well it works.

    1. Oh yes the Maybelline Big Eyes mascara! I think the wand is still pretty long though even though it is skinny! Would like to try that one as well!

  3. That sounds great! Now I want to try it. I normally just skip the bottom lashes unless I'm going out because they are such a hassle.

  6. I am on my second tube already and so glad I have found a mascara which is perfect for bottom lashes. My bottom lashes are so pathetic and sparse that none of the regular mascara wand would do anything for me.
