Guess who filmed her first YouTube video!?

I am so excited to share that I have finally taken the plunge and created my very own YouTube channel! I've recently been working on my first video and it is now published for the world to see! Having my own channel has always been on the back of my mind ever since I delved into the world of beauty and makeup about five years ago - I actually discovered the amazing beauty community through YouTube before even knowing about the wonderful platform that is blogging and that I have come to love.

While writing has always come naturally to me, talking in front of a camera is an area in which I have zero experience, and after filming and editing my first video, I've come to realize how much time and effort goes into creating a video. I have so much respect for those of you who already do it, it is no easy task and has definitely been a learning experience for me with figuring out how to use the filming settings on my camera, coming up with a setup that has decent lighting, and of course the whole editing process which comes with the package.

For my first video, I decided to film a Makeup Tutorial/Get Ready With Me and I was inspired by one of my favourite singers, the talented Carrie Underwood, to create this look. She is such a beautiful person both inside and out. I actually had the opportunity to see her in concert last year, and it was nothing short of amazing! I tried to recreate her signature makeup look: smokey brown eyes, glowing skin, a light cheek flush and soft pink lips. The result is natural and wearable, definitely something you would see me wear on days when I want to play up my eyes but still not look too 'made-up'.

If you are keen on keeping up with me through my videos, it would mean so much if you hit that subscribe button by clicking here! I have so many ideas for future videos bouncing around in my head that I just don't know what to film next haha! If you have any suggestions, I would love to hear from you! :)

As always, thanks for reading, and hopefully now watching! ;)

    2. Oh...I feel like I always use 'UNF' inappropriately. I use it more as a 'UGH ITS SO GORGEOUS' sense rather than the ...disturbing definition on urban dictionary ._.''

  5. I have been asked by my readers to create some Youtube tutorials as well but I know how much time goes into it and blogging takes so much time as it is, especially with a hectic schedule. I could never decide on whether or not I wanted to put myself out there that much. Blogging although quite personal is not quite as personal as Youtube. When you let people into you life you are open to so many negative individuals which I see on the Youtube channels of those I follow. I guess I just have to decide whether I want to take the plunge too. Congrats :) After following each other for some time and always communicating through comments its nice to see you in a video :) you are gorgeous by the way.

    1. Thanks for your support Erica, it means so much! :) It's taken me years of pondering, but I feel like I have mentally prepared myself for the negativity that I know will come with being present on YouTube. I've had such a positive response from blogging and know that there are so many nice people out there, I think that's what super important to remember! There will always be haters, and it's sad that they have nothing better to do in their spare time than to bully people they've never even met. Know that if ever you decide to make videos, I'll be your #1 fan, you are seriously so talented! x

  6. Congrats on your first video! The quality is really good, what kind of camera did you use, was it your webcam? I too have just done my first beauty video, using a Flip cam, so I'm on Youtube too, it's exciting isn't it? Found your blog through the Meet Me on the Bright Side blog hop, glad to have discovered it! You have really lovely skin, and this look is so wearable.
