My Beauty Interview with Mavala's Nathalie Rohlf

Last week I had the opportunity to meet with Ms. Nathalie Rohlf, who is the international trainer for Mavala while she was in Montreal. For those of you who are not familiar with the brand, Mavala is a Swiss beauty line specializing in skin care, nail care and makeup, and is today present in 120 countries. I was first introduced to the brand when I got to try two of their products, namely the Oil Seal Dryer for touch-dry nails as well as the Double-Lash growth treatment (reviewed here and here). We got to chat about the history of Mavala, as well as the products they offer. At the end of the interview I also asked Ms. Rohlf about her career path, as I was curious to know more on what enticed her to work in the beauty industry.

Sigma E55 Eye Shading Brush Review

Confession time: I am a makeup brush hoarder. If you need proof, just click here. I think it's because I get lazy when it comes to cleaning them so I prefer having multiples of brushes that serve different purposes. I have tried my fair share of brushes from different brands, including MAC, Real Techniques, EcoTools, Sephora Collection and Spa Resource, which all work great and have been well-loved throughout the years that I have been an avid makeup lover junkie. I was recently introduced to the Sigma Beauty brand when I got to try their E55 Eye Shading Brush*, and well, it was love at first swipe!

Spring 2014 Makeup Trends Inspired Tutorial

I am a member of the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® Community. This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper amplification for Collective Bias and its advertiser.

With all of the beautiful spring makeup collections being released, I wanted to create a look inspired by the spring 2014 makeup trends. I decided to play with some blue eye shadows which will be very "in" this coming spring and I came up with a wearable smoky eye look. As a base, I chose a foundation that provides a healthy glow and I also went with a bold orange lip shade, which have both been trending for the past couple of seasons and will still remain very popular in the upcoming spring months.

Mavala Eye-Lite Double-Lash Growth Treatment

Having naturally short lashes and not being much of a false eyelash wearer, I was very eager to try the Mavala Eye-Lite Double-Lash* growth treatment. This product claims to reinforce, thicken and lengthen the lashes, and can also be used as a brow hair growth serum. This was my first time trying an eyelash growth treatment, and I am quite pleased with the results!

Treating Dry Winter Skin with Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula

Man oh man has this winter been rough here in Canada! While I normally suffer from dry skin during the cold season, it seems like this clingy polar vortex we've been dealing with has made my skin 10 times worse! You know when your skin is so dry that it starts itching out of nowhere and the only way to relieve it is to scratch the **** out of it until your skin turns horribly red? Well, that was me just a few weeks ago, but thankfully Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula has come to the rescue and my skin is forever thankful!

My Makeup Brush Storage and Organization

A few months ago, my makeup brush collection got to the point where I couldn't keep all of my brushes in just one makeup case, so that's when I knew I had to find a better way to store them. I thought I would share with you my organizational tips for those of you who are looking for a cheap and easy way to store your brushes!
