Omy Laboratoires* is a Canadian skincare brand that specializes in refillable customized skincare products adapted to your skin needs and concerns. I was first introduced to the brand a couple of years ago, when attending a virtual tour of their laboratory in Quebec City. Co-founded by chemist Rachelle Séguin in 2018, they developed SkinAI, a technology that uses artificial intelligence to analyze skin and create made-to-measure products with ingredients perfectly adapted to your needs. Upon completing their online quiz, Omy develops customized skincare products in their in-house lab, and, in addition to choosing the preferred three active ingredients, you also get to pick the scent and texture you prefer.
After answering a series of questions, I received my personalized recommendations, formulas that will target acne, redness, pores, and hyperpigmentation:
I opted for lighter textures (great for combination to oily skin types) and unscented formulas. The three key ingredients in each of these formulas (ingredients 1, 4 & 7 in their catalogue) are derived from plant sources and are included in each product in my routine. They each come in recyclable packaging and reusable glass bottles that hold a refill, aligning with their commitment to reduce and reuse as a B Corp-certified business.
The first step, the Personalized Serum, has a beautiful and light gel texture featuring glycerin, niacinamide, grape seed extract, camellia sinensis flower leaf extract, and date seed extract. I like how deeply hydrating it is. It is also perfect for sensitive skin and provides a nice boost of radiance. I apply it right after spritzing facial mist, morning and night.
The Personalized Day Cream contains a fireweed extract known to address the spread of bacteria linked to acne. It also includes camellia sinensis leaf extract, glycerin, date seed extract, radish root ferment and salicylic acid as a few other ingredients. I apply this directly after the Personalized Serum, and it sets in quickly and smoothly, making it a great option under makeup.
The Personalized Night Cream provides instant comfort thanks to hyaluronic acid, vitamin E and phytoceramides. I opted for a lighter texture, and it sinks beautifully and quickly into the skin. I make sure to bring it down my neck as well, and it has made a big difference to counter my dry winter skin.
Since starting this routine over the past three months, I have been seeing great results. My skin feels smoother, looks brighter, and my acne is under control. I don't have any complaints - I really feel like these products are perfectly tailored to my skin type. Two big thumbs up from me!

ReplyDeleteI’ve heard of Omy before, but I’ve never personally tried their products. I really enjoyed reading about your results though. I may need to look into this for my oldest granddaughter, since she has been dealing with some acne lately. ReplyDeleteI don’t get acne nearly as much as I did several years ago. I’m glad because I would get cystic acne and it was super painful. I still get a flare occasionally and I put a pimple patch on it. I would like to try this product. I like that they personalize it to your skin type.

ReplyDeleteUsing AI to analyze skin and create custom formulas is such a fascinating way to handle acne and redness. I find that choosing the unscented option is always a safer bet for sensitive winter skin. Refillable glass bottles are a great bonus too.
