Sothys Un Automne À Paris Collection | Review + Makeup Look

With autumn now in full swing, it can only mean one thing: the holidays are near! In the beauty world, that means an influx of holidays collections are stirring up a storm online, so much so that it's been hard to keep up. I'll be sharing a few F/W beauty collections with you in the coming weeks, and I thought I would kick things off with the Sothys Un Automne À Paris Collection*, featuring stunning shades that compliment all skin tones, anywhere from fair to deep. 

I received a handful of items, including the Ombre Sothys Eye Quartet Palette in 20 Harmonie d'Automne, Radiance Blush in 20 Terre de Sienne and Colour Lip Pencil and Contour Lip Pencil Duo in 10 Rouge Brique.

The Ombre Sothys Eye Quartet Palette in 20 Harmonie d'Automne (C$68.50) comes in the signature Sothys sleek black packaging with a compact size mirror. Featuring three shimmers (copper, brown and gold) as well as a deep matte purple, the pigmentation appeared very promising. I was disappointed to find out that the shadows are quite sheer on the skin and require quite a bit of layering to show up. For the price, I think there are better quads out there that won't require the extra eye priming step.

I went quite heavy handed with the Radiance Blush in 20 Terre de Sienne (C$45.00) assuming it would be sheer as well, but on the contrary this blush is super pigmented! I had to really blend it out afterwards, and as you can see in my look photos it still stands out quite a bit. Looking closely, you can see a tiny bit of shimmer in the pan (my camera wouldn't even pick it up), but on the skin this blush looks matte. I think this is a beautiful natural shade, especially for the winter months for us paler skin ladies.

And now for the stars of the look: the Colour Lip Pencil and Contour Lip Pencil in 10 Rouge Brique (C$47.50). This matte brick red lip duo might just have become my new favourite! I start off by first outlining my lips with the Contour Lip Pencil, and fill the rest in with the Colour Lip Pencil. My lips are then set for 8+ hours without fading or transferring, even with drinking and eating. I don't even need to apply lip balm beforehand since these products are so moisturizing!
