Hask Kalahari Melon Oil Hair Collection | Review

Hask Kalahari Melon Oil Hair Collection

Watermelon just so happens to be my favourite fruit, so imagine my excitement when I found out that there is a range of hair products that smells just life the real stuff. I must preface this post by saying that the Hask Kalahari Melon Hair Collection* was developed for colour treated hair, which I do not currently have, but I figured there wouldn't be much harm in giving it a try on my natural hair. I don't style my hair very often (I honestly can't remember that last time I used a hot tool), but when it comes to trying new shampoos and conditioners, I'm always keen!

Hask Kalahari Melon Oil Hair Shampoo and Conditioner

I had actually never heard of this oil, so it was interesting to find out that the Kalahari Melon Oil is an especially great ingredient in hair care because it has been shown to help retain moisture and helps with dryness and colour fading.

The first product I tried is the Color Protection Shampoo, which lathers slightly when massaged into the scalp. Depending on the shampoo, I often have to apply some twice, but a little goes a long way with this one, saving me the extra step. It leaves my hair feeling very clean without stripping it down.

Next, I will apply the Color Protection Conditioner from ear level down for a boost of moisture. It makes my hair feel very soft and vibrant, and makes my hair less frizzy too. If you have curly or wavy hair like me, I think this is really nice to help tame unruly strands without weighing your hair down.

For added TLC, the Color Protection Deep Conditioner is a real treat for your hair. I massage it in from root to tip and leave it on for about ten minutes so that my hair can absorbs all of its goodness, and then follow up with a good rinse, leaving my hair extra soft and bouncy. The packet has enough product for three uses despite my long(ish) hair.

Lastly, I've also been giving the Color Protection Shine Oil a go, which can be used on both wet and dry hair. I pour a very tiny amount into my hand and coat my ends with the oil, and I've really enjoyed using it on second day hair for added moisture and shine. It absorbs really quickly and doesn't make my hair look greasy once absorbed.

I didn't expect this line would work so well for my hair considering it isn't for my current hair type, but I'm still really impressed by the results.
