I wanted to try out a high end concealer as I have some pretty bad acne scarring on my cheeks. Although I found some drugstore concealers that do a decent job, I wanted to try out something a little more expensive and high grade to see if I would notice any difference in my skin. This was my first purchase from MAC, and I was color matched to NW20!
The MAC Pro Longwear Concealer comes in a little glass tube and has a pump dispenser. The product itself has a very thick consistency, so a little goes a very long way. One pump is way too much for me, so I always go for half a pump and use a flat concealer brush from Real Techniques to apply it (if you are interested in purchasing Real Techniques brushes, check out my blog post here to get an awesome discount at checkout on iherb.com and a flat $4 international shipping rate!). The concealer does a pretty good job at covering up my acne scarring and dark circles under my eyes. The sales associate suggested that I try the cream version of this concealer, but I am accustomed to liquid concealer so that is what I ended up purchasing. I think I will try the cream concealer next, maybe it will work even better on me!
I think that when it comes to makeup products that go directly on your skin (like foundation, concealers, etc.) it might be better to go high end as you know that the products contain quality ingredients that are less likely to cause your skin any allergic reaction or breakout. I am just venturing into the high end market and look forward to discovering great products. Nonetheless, I think I will always be a "drugstore girl" at heart, I love me some good makeup deals haha! ;)
