Spring Makeup Look with Yves Rocher + Giveaway!

Happy Spring! With the change in seasons, I've also felt the urge to switch things up when it comes to doing my makeup - I realized that over the last few months, I've basically been wearing the same look over and over again! Does anyone else also feel inspired when a new season rolls around to up their beauty game? EPIC EMPTIES | Fall 2018 Edition

While everyone is talking about their New Year's resolutions, I've been focusing on my goal for the end of this year: sharing my empties with you guys! It sounds quite straightforward, however, having been very ill these last few weeks battling pneumonia (more of that in the video), I didn't think I could make it happen, but thankfully I am on the mend and had enough energy (and my voice back!) to share all of the products I've used up these last few months with you. Since starting this blog and video series, I haven't missed a season and I'm so glad I was able to make the streak continue (I know, it's the little things)! Yves Rocher Botanical Beauty | A Colourful Summer Makeup Look

Yves Rocher brings back fond memories of my childhood as it was my first ever encounter with the wonderful world of beauty. My mom would order makeup and skin care products via their catalogue every few months and would always let me unbox her package and I would sit there ouuuhh-ing and aaaahh-ing at of all her new goodies. I of course went through the naughty phase of trying on her Yves Rocher lipstick and eyeshadow without permission and ended up looking like a clown before I quickly washed it all off (but shhh let's keep that a secret). I recently received a handful of products from Yves Rocher* and I was beyond excited to properly give their line a try - with more makeup application expertise under my belt I might add.

EPIC EMPTIES | One Year In The Making

Well, it has happened... I broke my own personal streak of posting my empties seasonally as it's coming up on a year that I haven't shared any on here! Rest assured, I've still been holding onto my used up products and am ready to spill the beans in this virtual show and tell. If you're new here, I enjoy sharing (and watching) empties as to me they are the best way to get a grasp on if a product is actually worth giving a try. No better testament to the performance of a product than hearing someone's thoughts following every last bit of it having been scooped out or scraped off, right?

My Eco-Friendly Hair Care Must-Haves from Yves Rocher

My hair care routine is the most low maintenance out of all my beauty routines (makeup, skincare and body care) as I very rarely style or use heat on my mane. I don't colour-treat my hair, follow a plant-based diet and take biotin supplements as well as MSM powder (more on that here), which translates into very strong, thick and healthy hair that is less prone to breakage and fallout. In the last five months, I also haven't really been reaching for conditioner since my recently installed water softener has been doing such a great job at taming frizz and keeping my locks nice and smooth! In terms of actual hair products that I use, Yves Rocher* is one of my top eco-friendly recommendations, as they have a great selection when it comes to products containing a high percentage of ingredients from botanical extracts.

There's no denying I am a creature of habit - once I find something I really enjoy, I will keep reaching for it on the daily. My comfort zone when it comes to makeup revolves around me sticking to neutral and warm tones, such as purples, browns and bronze shades. However, once summer hits, I am all for trying new colours and challenging myself to create something I have never done before. A couple of months ago, I got an insider's look at the new Hydra Végétal skincare products* from Yves Rocher at the Letter Bet in Montréal, where I got to preview the new products, which was super fun! Eco-Friendly Brand Spotlight | Yves Rocher Botanical Skincare

I don't know if I've ever shared this on the blog, but geography and the environment have always been fascinating topics to me, so much so that my major in university combined both! For as long as I can remember, I've had an appreciation for nature and organizations or companies that make an effort to better their carbon footprint. Funny enough, I was never taught about veganism in my formal education, and it wasn't until a few years ago that I decided to make the switch after doing my own research, and one of the major reasons I did so was that going plant-based and changing my consumption habits actually do make a huge impact on bettering our planet. I've been working in partnership with Yves Rocher* for nearly a year now, and while I was familiar with the brand before, I did not realize how environmentally-friendly they are, which of course made me want to learn more about what they do!

It's the last week of summer, and I must say I am not ready for fall to settle in just yet. I know I am the odd one out, but I personally thrive when it's warm and sunny out! These last few weeks have felt very surreal with the pandemic we are currently facing and this new reality we have had to quickly adjust to. It's been devastating, to say the least, and not knowing what the future holds can be unsettling and really have a toll on one's well-being. I decided to take some time away from my platforms to process it all, and it felt good to not pressure myself to put out content when I felt it personally best to take a step back. It's officially my favourite time of the year and I couldn't be more excited! Although summer temperatures have taken longer than usual to settle here in Montréal, I'm hopeful that they are here to stay. I sat down the other day to film my latest empties video, in which I share all the products I got to finish in the past season. Yves Rocher Elixir Jeunesse | My Anti-Pollution Skincare Routine

We all hear about how important detoxing is for our health and well-being - if you are like me, you get caught up in the daily grind of balancing work life, home life and a social life, that self-care is sometimes put on the back burner, including having a proper skincare routine in place. Having lived in an urban environment my entire life and being exposed to high levels of pollution, I long for days when I get to escape the city for a short while, such as heading to the spa a few hours away in the countryside to breathe in some fresh air (a rare treat for me)! But, there are also many other ways one can detox on the daily, including filling your belly with the good stuff (I follow a plant-based diet and my meals include lots of whole foods such vibrant fruits and leafy greens, starches and beans), drinking lots of water, working out (yoga is a current favourite workout of mine), while also using skincare products that specifically protect the skin against environmental aggressors. My Detox Routine + 3 Super Easy Healthy Vegan Recipes

I view detoxing as all-encompassing: not only is it something that is good for my physical body but being able to detox my mind is also something I regard as highly beneficial for my well-being (and definitely a challenge)! I personally enjoy incorporating more eco-friendly products into my routine, eating plant-based meals and also meditating each day. What I put inside my body is just as important as what I apply to it - same goes for my personal thoughts and the external stimuli that consume my mind, and by the same token the knowledge and information I assimilate. I also think a detox is not something that can be quickly achieved with a magic pill but is instead an ongoing practice that you should dedicate time to each and every day.
