My Vegan Hair Care Routine | Pai-Shau Review

Pai-Shau

Earlier this year, I was debating whether to chop my hair off or grow it out, and I finally decided to just get a bit of a trim and keep it long. While I went for a more drastic haircut last year, I wanted to experience Rapunzel-like hair again and I am well on my way. I have previously shared my 21 Tips For Growing Long Luscious Hair FAST which I still swear by, and I figured I would take the time today to share what hair products I have been using in my routine by vegan professional hair care line Pai-Shau.

This is actually my first experience with Pai-Shau, but I had read amazing reviews online. I love that they are a Canadian-born, cruelty-free brand, and are mindful of what ingredients they use, as the whole line is void of sulfates, parabens and silicones. Their products contain exotic teas such as white tea, pu-erh tea, green tead, black tea and African red bush tea, so you can just imagine how lovely they all smell on top of being packed full of antioxidants and vitamins!

Pai-Shau Replenishing Hair Cleanser Replenishing Cream Conditioner

Starting in the shower with their Hydrating Ritual line, the first product I reach for is the Replenishing Hair Cleanser* (C$28.00, 250 mL). Despite not containing any sulfates (which are commonly added to shampoos to form a lather), this creamy formula still suds up nicely and deep cleans your scalp without weighing your hair down. My hair has become less greasy these past few years so I can now go three days without washing my hair, and after only one application and rinse, any excess oil is down the drain.

I follow up with the Replenishing Cream Conditioner* (C$30.00, 250 mL) to add some shine and extra hydration and strength thanks to ingredients such as rice amino acids and oat proteins. It has a very lightweight consistency and a thin coat from ear-level to ends is enough to make you hair silky smooth. I try to be mindful of how long I keep it on before rinsing so that my hair can reap all of its benefits.

Pai-Shau Supreme Revitalizing Mask Biphasic Infusion

About once a week, I go in with the Supreme Revitalizing Mask* (C$43.00, 280 mL) to deep condition my hair. This thick cream comes with a handy spatula to avoid getting product all over. This is a great product to use if you deal with static-y or frizzy strands as it really tames and nourishes the hair cuticle leaving it soft to the touch. When using this mask, I skip conditioner, leave it on for about five minutes and proceed with a proper rinse to get everything out.

I don't reach for styling products on a regular basis since I very rarely style my hair, but one product that has left me seriously impressed is their Biphasic Infusion* (C$45.00, 120 mL). Since this priming concentrate is made with binary technology, you need to shake the glass bottle to activate the ingredients. You only need a small amount which you can apply on wet or dry hair. I run the liquid through my hair and it instantly makes my hair even smoother. It's pretty amazing.

Pai-Shau Opulent Volume Spray Sublime Hold Hairspay

I'm usually not a fan of hairsprays, but these two are among the best I've ever tried: I'm talking about the Opulent Volume Spray* (C$28.00, 120 mL) and the Sublime Hold Hairspray* (C$13.00, 50 mL). The former comes in a pump spray bottle and can even be used on your roots to add volume and make your hair look bigger without leaving a crispy texture. The latter is an aerosol spray that provides medium hold, great to keep your loose waves or curls looking sleek and shiny but still touchable.

Pai-Shau is definitely more on the luxurious side which I'm not used to, so it sure has been interesting to see the difference in my hair. I fell in love with their products and could not recommend them highly enough.

The entire Pai-Shau line can be purchased online and you can also find their products at select salons in Canada and the US.
