Make Up For Ever HD Microperfecting Primer in #1 Green

When I know I will have a long day ahead of me, I like taking the extra step of applying a face primer since it makes my makeup hold up better throughout the day. Although I have tried quite a few primers, there are only a couple I have noticed actually make a difference, one of them being Benefit's Porefessional. So when I got to try Make Up For Ever's HD Microperfecting Primer* in the shade #1 Green, I had really high hopes that it would become a new favourite.

My Top 3 Hand Creams for Long Lasting Nourished Skin

When we actually think about it, our hands go through a lot. They endure the heat, the cold, the wind, the sun, dish washing, cleaning, gardening, scrubbing, holding, lifting - you name it, they withstand it, although sometimes with some after effects. I used to be pretty bad about taking care of my hands, but ever since I started dabbling into skin care, I can definitely notice how much better they look and feel. While our nails need special attention too (more on that here), today I thought I would focus on our hard-working hands and share with you my top 3 creams for keeping them looking and feeling their best.

Guest Post: Here Comes the Sun! Transitioning to Warm Weather with Nicole About Town

I am so honored to be the Canadian Beauty Bloggers Featured Blog of the Month (read all about it here!), and one thing that the founding members do each month is write guest posts on each other's blogs on a given theme. They invited me to take part in this month's round up, which is all about transitioning to warm weather. Today, I have fellow Canadian blogger Nicole from Nicole About Town sharing her go-to summer lip products with us. Take it away Nicole!

So like a lot of women, once the seasons begin to change and the warmer weather begins to shine through, I make some changes to my my makeup routine. The most notable of those changes is the various lip products I use.

For me, warmer weather is all about light, renewal, fresh, and soft. This translates for me into using completely different lip products than I did during the winter months. Does this mean that the colours that I wear are different? Yes, it does. But more than just the colours are different; the formulas and types of the lip products themselves are different. I tend to switch from the matte formula to a cream formula, and from lipstick to gloss.

Now don't get me wrong, I still reach for a matte shade from time to time, and I do still wear lipstick as well, it's just that I don't reach for them nearly as often and they are no longer my 'go to' lip products.

Here are some of the formulas that become staples for me during the warmer months.

Lip Gloss - While I tend to stay away from lip gloss during the colder months, I gravitate to it during the warmer weather. I usually end up having at least three to four different shades in my makeup bag at all times. This helps me be able to make quick wardrobe changes throughout the day. You'd be surprised just how different your makeup can look just by switching up your lip gloss. I always keep a variety of shades on hand, but having a neutral, coral, pink and a deeper berry shade are always a must for me. Some of my favourite formulations are MAC's Dazzleglass, Dazzleglass Creme, Cremesheen Glass, and Illamasqua Intense Lip Gloss. Key shades for me include: Provocateur (Revlon), Fuchsia Flash (Smashbox), Bare Necessity (Dazzleglass), Ban This! (MAC), Boost (Illamasqua) and Over Indulgence (MAC).

Agave Oil Treatment Review + Hair Oils 101

Ever since I read about the benefits of hair oils and tried them out for myself, I have never looked back! While I have a long time favourite in the Organix Renewing Moroccan Deep Penetrating Oil (reviewed here) and also use coconut oil weekly as a hair mask (more on that here), I haven't really tried any other oils as I have been quite happy with the way these two have been working for me. However, I have recently gotten my hands on the Agave Oil Treatment and yet again I am left super impressed. But does it replace my trusty old favourites? Keep on reading to find out!

NEW Vain Pursuits Skincare Line | Review + My Experience

I am so excited to share that Vain Pursuits has officially launched! If you follow me on Instagram, you might have caught my picture that I posted a few weeks back of the samples I got to try out. This brand hits very close to home (literally) - it is based in Montreal, and is the first online skincare service of its kind in Canada. Now, what can make a skincare line so different from others you may ask? Apart from Vain Pursuits offering all-natural, chemical-free products, they actually create personalized skincare fit for your skin type and preferences when it comes to lotions, creams and gels. That's right: all you have to do is complete your online beauty profile on their website, which basically asks what's your skin type, your age, and your scent and texture preferences when it comes to facial products on a scale from 1 to 10. You will then be matched with your facial fairy godmother, aka your skincare gal pal, who will work her magic and custom-make products that are suited for you. Once you have tried the samples and let your skincare specialist know how you like them, she will then tweak them to your liking and Vain Pursuits will then send you your full size products!

Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup Foundation

One of the makeup products I promised myself to try this year is the very popular Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup Foundation. I cannot even count on my two hands how many bloggers and vloggers I have come across who have shared their profound love for this little luxury. In fact, it was ranked #1 on my Beauty Wishlist for 2014. It didn't take long before I cracked and made my way to the Estée Lauder counter inside Hudson's Bay. To my disbelief, my Sephora doesn't carry this brand, and so my brain's beauty radar directed me a few blocks down the street to check HBC and luckily they had it. The only other product I've tried from Estée Lauder is their Advanced Night Repair Eye Synchronized Complex (reviewed here), so I was really looking forward to trying their cosmetics.
