Big Drugstore Haul: Skin Care and Makeup!

I went to the drugstore earlier this week and I have to admit... I let loose! You know it's time for some retail (in my case, drugstore) therapy when you have a long list of products that you have run out of or simply want to try out after having friends/fellow bloggers/beauty gurus recommend them to you! :D

Let me break down for you what I purchased:

I was in need of a new facial cleanser so I went for the Moisturizing Facial Wash by Simple. I've heard really good things about this new UK skin care brand so I'm excited to see if it lives up to the praise it has received!

I also got the Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Spot Treatment. Apparently it works really well when mixed with your moisturizer!

I was looking for some pore strips and came across these one by Bioré, they are pretty popular as well.

Final purchase in the skin care aisle: Hydraluron's Moisture Booster with Hyaluronic Acid. This is considered a miracle product as it "holds up to 1,000 times its weight in water." It is kind of like a primer for your moisturizer as it is a serum with a gel-like consistency that is meant to rejuvenate your skin. I've tried it a couple of times and I'm really impressed: my skin feels sooo soft and hydrated!

Next, in the makeup aisle, I got the Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Liner in Blackest Black. After being on the hunt for Essence's Midnight in Paris gel liner and having no luck, I decided to pick this one up as it is very loved by beauty gurus on Youtube. This is my very first gel liner and I can't wait to try it! :)

I also purchased two mascaras as I enjoy the intense lash effect you get from layering different mascaras: this time I went for Maybelline's Illegal Length Mascara in Very Black and Marcelle's Xtension Plus Mascara in Black. The latter was recommended to me by the lovely Sabina over at Beauty Blogs and More! Thanks for recommending it to me girl! Can't wait to try these out! :)

The last eye product I got is the new Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Kajal in Nude. I am almost out of my Rimmel eye liner in Pure White so this time I opted for a skin tone eye liner to see how I would like the effect it has as an eye brightener!

Last but not least, I am sure you have heard of Maybelline's Instant Age Rewind Concealer. I got mine in the shade 'Light'. It comes with a sponge applicator and is a product that has gotten a TON of love in the beauty world. I look forward to seeing if it lives up to the hype!

Have you tried any of these products? :)

  6. You're going to love everything you got! I have super dry skin and I absolutely love the Simple moisturizing face wash. And I also layer my mascaras and the Illegal Lengths is one of the best I've ever used. It lengthens amazingly, better than any high-end mascara I've ever tried!

  12. Hi! I love drugstore hauls. I didn't know Rimmel made a liner in the nude color. I love their liners & I'll have to pick this one up. I think the nude would be more natural than the white. With the concealer wand just be careful not to apply too much. It creases. Thanks for sharing your fun shopping trip!

  13. I love simple facewash...This leaves my skin feeling clean with no negative reactions, and although it doesn't moisturise as it claims, it doesn't leave my skin feeling dried out either.
