Chanel Éclat Lumière Highlighter Face Pen: A Review!

Hello Ladies!

Today I bring to you a very exciting purchase I made recently. I was in the market for a good concealer, and when I passed the Chanel counter at Ogilvy's in downtown Montreal, I decided to see what the brand had to offer. I have never owned anything Chanel before, and after getting past spending  $45 on a mere 1.2 mL of liquid product (which I still can't believe I did!) , I really started to embrace my new beauty find.

Although it is not sold under the label 'concealer,' the lady at the counter recommended the Éclat Lumière Highlighter Face Pen to me as an excellent product to even out my skin tone and cover my breakouts. She said since there is so little product, you get more of your money's worth by mixing a tiny amount with your foundation. It gives your skin a nice dewy finish, and although it does not completely cover my acne, it still does a pretty good job at evening out any redness on my skin. I sometimes also just apply it directly under my eyes or on any blemishes for whenever I want more full-coverage.

The packaging is really convenient, as you twist the end for the product to come out of a tiny brush. The first time I used it I kind of freaked out because it took over 30 clicks to see the liquid come out...I thought I had a broken pen! So just letting you know in case this happens to you too.

I am in the shade 30 Beige Rose... it is slightly salmon-colored once it comes out of the pen, but it blends out perfectly onto my skin once applied.

Although I really like the product, I would not repurchase it because it is just SO expensive, and I am positive I can find something cheaper and that works better on my skin.

Still, it makes me happy to know that I own something 'Chanel' :)

Do you have any Chanel products that you recommend? What would you like to try from the brand?

    1. I hadn't really heard of anything like it before either haha! I just did what the lady suggested at the counter, and it's true it does cover pretty well! I think since it has a tinted liquid formulation that is why it can act as a concealer. I'm sure you can find something that is less expensive and that works better! :)

  4. If you want a similar product for a fraction of the cost I think you should try the Maybelline Dream Lumi touch highlighting concealer. It does a good job, at least on my skin it does.
